Denpasar at a glance
Denpasar is a southern Bali city of temples, museums and easy hops to Sanur, Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. Tanah Lot, Uluwatu Temple, Sanur, Seminyak, Kuta, the Bali Museum, Bajra Sandhi Monument, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua and Ubud as a day-trip base sit on traffic-heavy roads rather than a metro, with further outings to Ubud, Uluwatu, Tanah Lot and Nusa Penida only where current boats, roads and opening hours allow. Ngurah Rai (DPS) is the catalogue airport. Respectful temple dress, family pacing and a calm airport arrival matter more than stacking every beach.
Quick information
Drier months suit temple courtyards, Sanur walks and Ubud lanes without peak wet-season downpours. The wet season still works if you keep museum and monument interiors for heavy rain. Midday heat is strong year-round; plan shade, water and early temple visits.
