Ho Chi Minh City at a glance

Ho Chi Minh City is a warm southern Vietnamese hub of museums, markets and river streets. The War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, the Notre-Dame Cathedral area, the Central Post Office, Ben Thanh Market, Nguyen Hue Walking Street, the Saigon River, Cholon, Jade Emperor Pagoda and Landmark 81 sit in walking areas, buses and ride-hailing, with day trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels, the Mekong Delta, Can Gio and Tay Ninh. Most visitors arrive at Tan Son Nhat (SGN). Heat, traffic and one neighbourhood at a time matter more than trying to cover every landmark.
