Larnaca at a glance
Larnaca is a relaxed coastal base with a palm-lined promenade, old quarter and salt lake. Finikoudes, the Church of Saint Lazarus, Larnaca Castle, the salt lake, Hala Sultan Tekke, Mackenzie Beach, the Kamares Aqueduct, Pierides Museum, the Zenobia wreck and the old town sit close together, with day trips to Lefkara, Nicosia, Limassol, Ayia Napa and Troodos.
Quick information
Shoulder months suit Finikoudes, the salt lake and old-town walks without peak summer heat. Summer is beach weather; winter is quieter for museums and day trips inland.
