Marrakech at a glance
Marrakech is a Medina city of lanes, courtyards and late-night squares. Jemaa el-Fnaa, the Koutoubia, Bahia Palace, Ben Youssef Madrasa, Majorelle Garden, the Saadian Tombs, the Mellah, the souks, El Badi Palace and the Menara Gardens sit in walkable areas or a short ride apart, with day trips toward the Atlas, Aït Benhaddou, Essaouira, Ouzoud and Agafay.
Quick information
Shoulder months suit Medina lanes without peak heat. Summer afternoons are severe; use palaces, museums and shade. Palaces and gardens need an early start.
