Tenerife at a glance
Tenerife is a volcanic Atlantic island of a national-park peak, colonial towns and contrasting coasts. Teide National Park, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Puerto de la Cruz, Anaga Rural Park, Masca, Los Gigantes, Costa Adeje, Siam Park and Garachico sit across two airport catchments, with day trips to Teide, Anaga, Masca or Los Gigantes and La Laguna. Tenerife South (TFS) and Tenerife North (TFN) are the catalogue airports.
Quick information
Shoulder months suit Teide, Anaga and La Laguna without peak south-coast heat. Summer is busiest in Costa Adeje; winter stays mild on the coast while Teide can be cold and occasionally closed in poor weather.
