Wroclaw at a glance
Wrocław is a riverside city of bridges, islands and a colourful market square. The Market Square and Town Hall, Ostrów Tumski, Cathedral Island, Wrocław University and Aula Leopoldina, the Panorama of Racławice, Centennial Hall, the Multimedia Fountain, Wrocław Zoo and Afrykarium, Hydropolis and the city dwarfs sit in walkable areas or ones linked by tram, with day trips to Książ Castle, Świdnica, Adršpach, Opole and other Lower Silesian towns.
Quick information
Warmer months suit island walks, the fountain and the zoo. Winter is quieter for the Market Square and indoor panoramas; bridges can be icy.
